Meyer Lemons

January 25, 2010

We are advocates of eating in-season as much as we are for eating local. Right now is the time for delicious winter citrus, grown by our domestic farmers. A bag of Meyer lemons caught our eye at the market the other day and became the inspiration for these recipes. Different from the standard Eureka lemons found at most grocery stores, Meyer lemons are a lemon-orange cross, with a bit more juice and fragrance and also a little less tart.

Must Try Too: Extend your winter citrus by making a jar of pickled lemonsto keep in the fridge to enjoy once the season’s changed.
