I read in the Georgetown Current that you offer “Market to Kitchen” cookinig classes at area farmers markets and was wondering if you might be interested in giving a brief talk (not a full-fledged class) to members of the Georgetown Senior Center this fall (Sept. or Oct.). The Center is a small, private, nonprofit organization founded in 1982 to provide elderly residents of Georgetown/Upper NW with home-cooked lunches and interesting, stimulating programs 3 days/week (M, W, F), 10 months/year (we close in July and August). A Center-owned van transports the seniors from their homes to our meeting place at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 3240 O St., NW. Our seniors live on their own and would be most interested in shoppping tips, simple recipes, and fall produce to watch for. They are an easy, enthusiastic audience and always, most appreciative. Please contact me either by e-mail or phone (202/333-9348) and I’d be happy to tell you more about my group and answer any questions you might have. Perhaps we could work something out. Thank you so much for considering my request!
