Italian Country Cookbook

We received Italian Country Cookbook by Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray over ten years ago as a Christmas gift from our dear friend Meg, this book remains a true favorite. Every item in the book is simple and delicious: cucina rustica at its best. If there is a meal that we’d stake our reputation on it would have to include: Maiale al Latte (Pork Cooked in Milk) - a real gem. Other favorite recipes include: Ribollita, a Tuscan vegetable and bread soup made with hearty, healthy greens – perfect for fall and winter meals, Sformato di Spinaci, a baked spinach side dish and Sorbetto d’Arancie Tarocchi (blood orange sorbet). Since the publication of this particular cookbook, Rogers and Gray have published several other cookbooks. Many of the recipes are variations of the recipes found in this first edition. The book was later re-published under an American imprint with the new title London River Café Cookbook; you will appreciate the cost-savings considering that the British title is out-of-print. This is our all-time favorite Italian cookbook.
