What Dad doesn’t like a cold one? Try making a michelada (mee-cha-LAH-dah) – a beer drink invented in Mexico, but becoming more and more popular here in the States. The Recipe: rim a glass with Kosher salt, squeeze the juice of half a lime into the glass, and then fill the glass with ice and Mexican beer (Corona, Modelo, Tecate, Pacifico).
The meaning of the name is subject to debate, but it has been said to come from “mi chela helada” - slang for "my cold beer". Most refreshing on a hot day.
