Reported by NPR and The New York Times, lobster prices are at an all-time low. This was enough to inspire us to incorporate this decadent crustacean into our New Year’s Eve celebration. Wrap your table in newsprint (stock market quotes, style section, or comic pages) for fun conversation, add a little glam with some glittery or silver pieces, and make lobster stew. If you are having a small crowd, consider serving with crusty bread as a meal followed with a good salad and some cheese. Or for a larger crowd, serve a small cup to start. Sip champagne. It’s really all you need.

Note: We found that prices at Costco and at our local Whole Foods were the same: $59.99 for 5 lobster tails from Maine. Still a splurge, but worth it every once in a while.
