Mollie Katzen’s Cookbooks

January 5, 2009

Instead of purchasing something brand-new, our personal shelves (stocked with plenty of fodder for good eats) became the place to “shop” for our latest
“cook the book
pick. In the same vein as our Home Cooking Resolution, we searched through our collection of cookbooks to find one that we hadn’t spent enough time with over the last few years.

We chose Mollie Katzen, best known as the author and illustrator of the groundbreaking classic – Moosewood Cookbook. This classic book was named to the James Beard Foundation’s Cookbook Hall of Fame in 2007 and will be our inspiration for cooking more legumes, grains and veggies as we start the new year. We also realized that we have 4 other Katzen books we may also spend some time cooking from again, including: The Enchanted Broccoli Forest, Still Life With Menu Cookbook, The Vegetable Dishes I Can’t Live Without and Pretend Soup and Other Real Recipes: A Cookbook for Preschoolers & Up.
