Grilled Bok Choy with a Soy-Ginger Sauce

(Serves 4-6)

¼ c. toasted sesame oil
1 c. soy sauce
1 lg. thumb-size piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated
1 lg. clove garlic, minced
1 Tbls. sugar or honey
2 heads bok choy, rinsed whole and patted dry

First, make sauce by combining the first 5 ingredients in a wide, shallow bowl. Then, cut the bok choy into thirds or fourths - you do not want too many pieces or it will fall apart on the grill. Place the bok choy in the bowl and give it a twirl to coat. Grill over a medium-high heat for about 2-3 minutes per side until it is just tender and the glaze has started to char and caramelize. Note: do not throw away the extra Soy-Ginger Sauce; use it to drizzle more sauce on the bok choy after it is finished.

Buying Tips: Look for baby, organic bok choy in local farm markets.
