English Muffin Toasts

(adapted from Gourmet Magazine, September 2006)

There is nothing better than the buttery taste and crunch of an English muffin. They are so good prepared this way.

6 English muffins, left unsplit
6 Tbls. unsalted butter, melted
¼ tsp salt

Preheat oven to 375° and place rack in middle. Cut muffins crosswise NOT horizontally in ½ inch strips. Place muffin strips cut side down on baking sheet and brush the strips with butter. Bake until muffins are golden about 10 minutes. Turn toasts over and bake until golden on the other side, about 10 more minutes. Sprinkle with more salt if needed and serve warm or at room temperature.
